MANIFESTA-TE is an arts and education project for young people aged 12 to 16 in the Castelo Branco area. Led by Terceira Pessoa, it is part of the Gulbenkian Knowledge Academies and aims to develop the following social and emotional skills: creativity, critical thinking and communication.
Manifesta-te is an experimental methodology based on the following pedagogies: performative; narrative; play-based; of discovery; of creation; of making; of emancipation; of collective work. Drawing on artistic techniques/strategies and tools, the methodology is structured to foster the identified skills directly.
In this way, the young people worked directly with artists and specialists in education through art, in a process that culminated in the creation of a work to be shared with the public. As it was developed, the experimental Manifesta-te methodology was evaluated and monitored in order to understand its real impact on the development of social and emotional skills in the young participants.
