VADO E NON TORNO explores the boundaries of performance, drawing on glitch art to address error and real time. With artistic direction and performance by Óscar Silva, and staging and dramaturgy by Maurício P. Castro, it seeks to materialise solely on the plane of the real, implicating the body of the other, who co-creates and observes at the same time. Brazilian director Maurício P. Castro starts from chapter 6 of James Joyce’s Ulysses, taking audience and performer on a journey into death and the beyond. On stage, among shadows and glitches, the piece reflects on creation as an unpredictable, impure event, challenging perceptions of time, reality and mortality.
