Primeira infância | um fabulário
Early childhood | a book of fables

Drawing on the world of our first years of life and the stories of that time, Primeira infância | um fabulário centres on Maria Rita, a 9-year-old child who started making performances with Terceira Pessoa at the age of 6 and has been involved in creative processes ever since.
In this performance, Maria Rita tells the story of Terceira Pessoa and of its ‘early childhood’, linking it to founding events such as the Big Bang, the Baby Boom and a Supernova that occurred at the very moment she was born – as her mother, who felt it on her own skin, told her.
In the pauses in her story, Maria Rita presents her first works of art, the result of her drifting reflections on her earliest days.
Keeping Maria company on her drift is her soft-toy couple, with whom she has existentialist conversations, sometimes touching on eternal themes: ‘Yes, drifting is a very beautiful thing, but very difficult too. Just like the unicorn. You can’t see it, but you can’t say it doesn’t exist either.’
