I tattooed the word ‘FOREVER’ on the time we spent here together.
Together, we made a blood pact. Together, we kissed this ground and kept it forever, as if it were a secret all our own.
Did you know that everything here, where we are now, was once one enormous void? Did you know there was a time when we too were a tiny dot drifting through the immense universe? Do you believe it? Our lips meet and the world disappears.
We are the last lovers in history. Side by side. Do you believe it? Shall we? We hold hands. We close our eyes. The body of the wind becomes our body. Can you feel it? Our hands squeeze tight. Are you ready? After a silence, you say yes, easing the weight of your hand on mine. And the world, as we have known it until now, disappears. Houses stop being houses. Streets lose their boundaries.
ABOUT THE PROCESS
For six months we had the chance to work with a group of young people from the Castelo Branco area.
With them we took on tense and mood, claws out and teeth bared, we let off the rockets and picked up the sticks, and once again we listened to the sound of the volcano which, though it seems dormant, could wake at any moment.
