Sitting here with you is in itself an act of inscription. I look at you.
You look at me. I wait and you wait with me. Sometimes our eyes meet and it seems the world has ceased to exist, giving way to something else we did not yet know. And all of this is a long love story that has only just begun. The story we are building now, at this moment, as I sit with you, as I wait with you, as we finally look at one another. And being here, now, is all that matters at this moment.
And in the time of waiting that we share, we begin to ask ourselves: who, after all, is the woman there before us? What does she have to tell us that we have not yet heard? That we do not yet know? How can her words, her body, meet my words and my body? (pause) This is where theatre begins.
When we begin to ask ourselves, as in the beginning, as in the time when stones had history and every day was a new beginning. Perhaps this is the face of desire. Our face here and now. Our face everywhere and nowhere. It loses itself. It empties itself. Only to fill itself, later, with intensity. Like the light that disappears, slowly, to give way to the dark. It is in the dark that light can become light again. It is in the dark that light can become light again. It is in the dark that light can become light again.
ABOUT THE PROCESS
For who knows how long, we had the chance to work with a group of adults from the Castelo Branco area. With them we discovered that now we too set out from the world to arrive at the body, whereas before the path we took ran the other way. And that all of this is a long love story that has only just begun.
