Where Olive Trees Grow Men Don’t Die bears witness to a story of belief that art can play an active role in society. It was this story that we found in four villages in the interior of Portugal – Barbaído, Chão da Vã, Freixial do Campo and Juncal do Campo – where there is a project to develop the villages through artistic practices: “Há Festa no Campo/Aldeias Artísticas”.
The development of this project is thus documented, embodying a community experience and making it possible to replicate it in other territories.
