SAYING GOODBYE TO THINGS is a photographic project by Nuno Leão that led to an installation of photography and text in 35mm slides and to the publication of a photography and essay book titled “Saying goodbye to things, followed by a theory of image (or the performance of the world)”. The book includes photography by Nuno Leão, essay by Diogo Martins and has the graphic design of Rita Pestana.
“saying goodbye to things” is a photography and text installation to occupy the end of a hallway, an isolated living room, an empty bedroom, a basement, an attic.
“saying goodbye to things” is a collection of vestiges, of leftovers, of remains, of objects, people, animals, images, words, gestures, thoughts.
“saying goodbye to things” is a remembrance.
“saying goodbye to things” is an attempt of registering a path in the scenery or, at least, the marks it left behind.
